Rolf Margenau for Tewksbury Township Committee - a new chance for a positive change
Introduction
I'm Rolf Margenau and I'd like to serve as your Township Committee man beginning next year. As a Democrat I offer an opportunity to refresh and possibly challenge the way things have been done in Tewksbury for many years. As a businessman familiar with both large and small organizations I offer a pragmatic approach to getting things done - on or under budget and on time. As an attorney I'm not afraid to dig into complicated issues involving the Highlands Act and our legal obligation to provide affordable housing - yet retain the unique and beautiful character of our lovely town. As a relative newcomer (Nancy and I have lived on Sutton Road for four years) with an open mind I am not beholden to any special interests but am interested in providing full service to all Tewksbury voters - without favoritism to any particular group or clique.

When I ran for this office last year I had the opportunity to listen to many of you and understand not only the special nature of Tewksbury and its residents. but the various concerns important to all of you. I ran then, as I do now, to address all those issues and offer an alternative to a not particularly representative Republican establishment which has been running the town its way for many years. I think it's time to shake things up a bit, reduce wasteful spending, eliminate cronyism and present fresh and effective ideas. I'd like to correct numerous management issues, institute simple ways to reduce the township's carbon footprint and foster environmental stewardship. These things are dear to my heart and I have the desire and the time to work on them.

I plan to identify and discuss opportunities for improving township management and attitude in future issues of the Tewksbury Times, and you may also review my thoughts in the "Tewksbury Issues" section of this web site. I am committed to transparency and accountability in my dealings and in all township affairs. You might ask yourself how many of our current Township Committee members have or will offer their thoughts in writing for all to see.

My candidacy has been favorably endorsed by Congressman Rush Holt, who formerly served our community so well, and Linda Stender, our Assemblyperson and this year's candidate for Congress.

In brief, I truly wish to maintain Tewksbury as the wonderful and exciting place it is by the application of my dedication and experience. To do that I need your vote. You won't be disappointed.
